Spinnaz

Overview

Spinnaz is a fictional restaurant which specialises in Jamaican cuisine. The name “spinnaz” is from the skinny Jamaican boiled dumplings which are usually made and cooked in soups and stew peas dishes.

For this project, the branding and promotional graphics were created. This includes colour palette, logo, letter head, posters, folder and food packaging.

Typography

A modified Bubblegum font was used as the main font type for the Spinnaz logo. This font was chosen because it is playful, it represent joy/enjoyment.

Exo 2 font was used as the secondary font. It compliments the bubblegum font because it is not as playful but it is also not too serious. It does not talk the attention away from the bubblegum font.

Colour Palette

The green colour is from the Jamaican flag, however it was muted in order to compliment the other colours. Main Colour 2 & Secondary Colour are used to represent food. Supporting colour 2 is used mainly for background colour.

Logo

For the logo mark, I used a chinese dumpling instead of a Jamaican spinnaz dumpling because the Chinese dumpling is more recognizable. Also, the spinnaz dumpling would not look appropriate as a silhouette.

In the logo type, the counter in the letters P and A were modified to shape like a dumpling.

Pattern Graphics

These patterns were created to be used on various products such as brand packaging.

Folder

These two folders are showing the use of the pattern graphics. The first folder is showing the colourful logotype pattern.
The second folder shows both the logo mark and logo type pattern with no colour.
